About us
DOGWALKIES.CO.UK offers pet care services for pet owners in the North and
West of Glasgow.
Dog walking is currently available in Milngavie and Bearsden. Neighbouring
areas may be considered. Bookings are very busy so call as soon as you can to ensure a place on the
rota.
Other services are available in a wider area including Strathblane,
Lennoxtown, Torrance, Milngavie and Bearsden.
How it all started...
Megan, Marley and Hobbs are the inspiration for this service.
Megan arrived first, she’s a lovely collie, so kind and gentle that she used
to be a PAT dog in her spare time. As a collie she needs lots of exercise and
initially this was fine however after a change of job, a midday walker had
to be found.
A number of people were kind enough to walk her as a favour or
for a small fee but it always felt like we were leaning on favours and
goodwill.
Marley and Hobbs arrived next, old and a bit eccentric and it was obvious
that they would never be happy spending their holidays' away from home in a
cattery so once again favours were required.
And so the idea of DOGWALKIES.CO.UK evolved and in May 2004 the dream became
a reality.

Dog Walking
The areas we work in benefit from being near to open countryside and
pleasant parks. We aim to get away from the streets in the suburbs. In our
customised vehicles we can safely transport your dogs out to fresh air and
lots of exercise.
The dogs are exercised in small groups. We do require that our "clients" are
friendly towards each other. However, with our extensive experience in
handling dogs we can usually resolve any “issues”.
Dogs are initially walked on lead this helps to build a bond of trust
between the dog and the handler. If the dog has a good recall then we will
allow them to walk off lead. This will only be done if requested by the
owners.
It is our intention that our business will not create problems for other
users of parks, footpaths and open spaces. We always clean up after the dogs
and respect natural habitats of wildlife. Dogs are also supplied with an
identity tag with our logo and phone number while walking with us.
You will have the chance to meet with the owner of dogwalkies.co.uk at the
registration visit. Details of who will walk your dog will be readily
available as will references and police checks. Staff are uniformed and will
respect your household security as well as the safety of your pet.
Dog walking prices
We feel our prices reflect the high level of care and attention we aim to
provide your pets.
Walks are charged at £9 per
walk (one dog) or £16.50 per walk for 2 dogs - Monday to Friday.
Occasional weekend walking is also available at a rate of £12 per walk per dog.
Long term customers can pay by standing order and take advantage of
discounted fees.

Home Visits
Cats and other domestic pets (rabbits, guinea pigs, etc) are usually much
more independent than their canine pals. They are much happier when left
in their own environment and often prefer not to be sent out to board. This is especially true of older or more nervous animals.
We can offer your pet the
following service:
- visit your pet in his/her own home
- feed and change water
- clean and change litter trays
- play with them and keep them happy
As well as this we can also help to keep your home secure while you are
away on holiday or business in the following ways:
- a regular caller will help to deter any would be burglars
- we will collect your post
- if required we can take in milk bottles or newspapers so you don’t have
to cancel them and alert others to your absence
- put out bin bags
- freshen up your house and ensure basic supplies are there for your
return (this will be charged separately)
For your peace of mind we carry out police checks on all staff and can
supply references. All keys for your property are securely stored.

Horses
Having a horse at home can be great but from time to time you might need
a little extra help. As a life long rider and previous horse owner,

life a little easier!

towards the BHS stages exams. She regularly helps out at a local
Riding School, rides and cares for Earl (16.1hh Irish Draft Gelding) and
occasionally mucks out Brook (16.2hh Thoroughbred/Warmblood).
The owners of
these lovely horses are happy to provide references on request.
Nicci will happily and confidently carry out a range of horse care duties
including:
- Feeding
- Rugging up
- Turning out
- Mucking out
- Filling haynets, water buckets etc.
- Catching
- Hoof picking and other basic grooming and care requirements
Please note while we are happy to work with owners present, we prefer not to
visit livery yards where these services are already on offer from the yard
owner.
Prices will be tailored to each individual booking.
